I can't remember another film where the main heroine is a hearing-aid wearer. In "Read My Lips" (Sur Mes Levres) by Jacques Audiard, the lead character office-worker Carla becomes involved with a criminal underworld through Paul who she employs to assist her. Her lip-reading skills of the French language are key to the plot.
It has some realistic touches: she turns down or removes her hearing-aids in noisey situations and you are treated to a bit of French sign language. To some extent, the soundtrack is used to portray what she hears.
